If you don't care for details, just know I was up until 4 every night this weekend....if you do care about the details:
Friday night I went to a classmates house warming party. You see Diego, my classmate, just moved into his new apartment - and it is actually an apartment, you know, those dwellings with more than one room. There is a kitchen, living room, and two bedrooms with doors you can close!! (trust me, if you were here you would be as impressed as I am)
The party was great, met a lot of new people and got to know my classmates better etc etc. Well around 2 we decided to head to the center and go to a bar. There were prob 15 of us and we had to take the elevator down. There can only be 4 people in the elevator at a time, so when the doors opened and two big guys were already in there one of our people, Greg, joined them. Once we were all outside getting ready to leave Greg still wasn't around. He called one of the guys and said, "come get me, I am on the first floor..." Apparently these two big guys found out Greg was from the US and they do not like Americans. They were yelling at him the whole 9 floors down saying thing like, "Americans are the scum of the earth..." They pushed him around and decided they were going to bring him back up to their apartment for who knows what - they were trying to drag him back into the elevator when he called. So this of course started like an hour worth of trying to avoid a fight. Now you have to remember a few things, 1. I go an engineering school, so it is almost all men (there were 4 of us girls there) = there was a whole lot of man adrenalin going around. 2. We are international students from all over the globe = don't try to start a fight with 2 of you when we have a big group that included a 7' tall Serbian and a Canadian who used to be into ultimate fighting....oh boy, it was a stupid crazy evening.
By the time we got to the bar it was only open for 30 more minutes and that is def not worth the 100kr cover. We were heading home and decided to stop for a Kebob where we were discriminated against again and never got our food!! Oh Sweden.
Saturday night was my friend Eric's b-day party. Marko, Tom tom, Julia and I met at the school at 6 to eat dinner and share a bottle of.....lemonade.... We headed to the party around 9 where Eric's friends visiting from Germany had brought a huge variety of....lemonade...seriously the entire table was covered with bottles. The night was great, after the party in Lappis (a student housing area) we headed downtown to a few bars for dancing! Headed home at 4ish...It was a super fun night and boy am I still recovering from all of that lemonade...
I will have more details about Saturday night's happenings on Tuesday....!!
