Day 25 - Thursday July 16, 2009: Christian's Day

Started out the day with conversation class.  Everyone showed up on time today!  How exciting.  I had them go around the room and share what they learned about each other during the mock interviews then gave them tips on their answers (I am such an expert...).  In listing their 3 weaknesses a lot of them said, "well I am kind of lazy...."  I was like NOOOOOO....don't say that EVER.  It was my student, Sandra's, b-day today and she brought every one some iced green tea - it was actually good.

The we had lunch of fried and white rice.  Meh

At 1:10 we had our Chinese "Final Exam."  They read us the test as a review....so we pretty much had all the answers given to us.  Then we spoke Chinese for fun for a bit....but pretty much just chatted with our tutors.  Our teacher, Marina Chen, head of the English Dept., said that CKE speaks Chinese the best of all of us.  She said we all speak well, but CKE is exceptional.  Here is a pic (Marina Chen is not in the pic):

Then we all had 1-on-1's from 4 to 6 and decided to do them all together and play Badminton.  We made a tournament which CKE and Marie won undefeated.  Playing Badminton is 1000^2 times better than talking to these people....I was supposed to have Selene who speaks NO english and has snaggle teeth that have NEVER been flossed or brushed for that matter - maybe brushed bi-monthly...

We bought some snacks at the 7-11 (third visit today).  Saw the stray puppy there and are spending the night chillin' in our apt.
