Day 31 - Wednesday July 22, 2009: Goodbye Party

We had our Goodbye Party tonight. It was a blast. First Luke, Albert, Mirena, and Alex said a few things. Then we started our songs. The kids did so great. Everyone sang along and was taking videos and pictures. After the songs were done the students had a few surprises for us. The older students (Geoff and mine) did a song and dance...it was interesting to say the least - all week we had been talking about what is appropriate and what is not and then the girls came out in thigh-highs and some provocative dance moves; but Alex, Albert, and Luke thought it was funny, so I guess what is appropriate is different here. After this dance Luke was killing time and did a little provacative dance himslef....we missed it on camera and were bumbed! The other surprise was a birthday cake and song for ME! It was a total surprise and the cake was delicious. Then came the pictures. Lots and lots and lots of pictures - my cheeks actually hurt. Too bad my and Christian's cameras died.
